The dipper is a coool bird to photograph; my thumbs were frozen. This one fed non-stop for hours. Expends lots of energy underwater, I suspect.

If you are lucky, you may catch a Townsend's Solitaire feeding on insects on the ground or getting water. Otherwise, they are too high in the trees to photograph.
